Role: Primary Supply Teacher

Location: Brighton and Hove

Contract: Part-Time / Flexible Supply

Start Date: Ongoing from September 2026

Daily Rate: £120 – £135

Supply Desk is working in partnership with a wide range of welcoming and well-resourced primary schools across Brighton and Hove, who are seeking adaptable and enthusiastic Primary Supply Teachers to join them on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified teachers looking for flexibility while continuing to make a positive impact in local schools.

About the Role

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, covering planned absences, short-term placements, or ad hoc daily supply. You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum

Adapt teaching to suit a range of learning abilities and classroom settings

Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

Create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils

Follow lesson plans provided, with flexibility to respond to pupil needs

Assess and monitor pupil progress where required

Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and wider school communities

Candidate Profile

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (secondary age preferred)

A caring, resilient, and patient approach

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to implement behaviour support strategies effectively

Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team

A genuine commitment to supporting young people with additional needs

Requirements

UK Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent

Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Two professional teaching references

Eligibility to work in the UK
