Location: Taunton, Somerset

Contract: Permanent | Full-time | 40 hours per week

Pay: £12.50 per hour + enhanced overtime rates

Training: Full HGV Class 2 licence training and industry development provided

The business works with water authorities, utilities, and commercial clients, maintaining and protecting critical drainage and wastewater systems. They are known for investing heavily in their people and providing clear progression routes.

This role is designed for groundworkers, labourers, or construction operatives who are used to working outdoors and are looking to retrain into a skilled HGV driver role with career growth. No previous HGV or drainage experience is required as you’ll be fully trained from day one.

About the Role

* Training towards a full UK Class 2 (Cat C) HGV licence

* Driving and operating tankers and specialist drainage vehicles under supervision

* Assisting with high-pressure water jetting, CCTV drainage inspections, and sewer maintenance

* Manual handling, site clean-ups, and debris removal

* Working in confined spaces and varied outdoor environments

* Completing digital site reports and vehicle checks

* Supporting senior drivers and engineers to deliver jobs safely and efficiently

* Occasional travel and working away may be required

* Participation in on-call rota once fully trained

About You

* Comfortable working outdoors xjnqpsq in all weather conditions

* Clean full UK drivers license

* Physically fit and happy with practical, hands-on work

* Reliable, punctual, and a team player

* Strong “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn new skills

* Open to training and development, including obtaining a Class 2 HGV licence

* Right to work in the UK
