Yard Operative with FLT Licence

Description

Thrive Personnel Ltd are recruiting a Yard Operative with FLT Licence for our client a leading manufacturer based in Morley Leeds.

This is a permanent role, which will involve work both on and off the FLT.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Operate FLT (forklift truck) to move, load, and unload goods, materials, and finished products.

Conduct daily safety checks on the FLT, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and functionality, and report any defects or maintenance requirements.

Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring that goods are accurately checked against delivery notes and any discrepancies are reported.

Stack and store materials in designated areas within the yard, following established stacking procedures and maximizing space utilization.

Supply production lines with necessary materials, ensuring timely delivery to prevent delays in the manufacturing process.

Remove finished products from production areas and transfer them to the dispatch area or storage locations.

Maintain the yard area in a clean and orderly condition, removing debris and ensuring walkways are clear and safe.

Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as required.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies, including wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment).

Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses to the supervisor immediately.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient yard operations and smooth workflow.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid FLT (forklift truck) license/certification (Counterbalance).

Proven experience operating FLTs in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to FLT operation and yard safety.

Ability to read and understand delivery notes, stock lists, and other related documentation.

Strong spatial awareness and ability to maneuver FLT in tight spaces.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions:

Requires the use of PPE, including safety boots, high–visibility clothing, and gloves.

Will involve manual labour both on and off the truck.
