DSP Engineer

We are partnered with a globally recognised audio technology organisation behind professional products used by musicians, producers, engineers, venues and touring professionals around the world.

They are looking for a DSP Engineer in Manchester with experience developing digital signal processing for hardware-based audio products. This role focuses on implementing and optimising DSP algorithms within physical audio devices and embedded platforms, rather than software plugins or standalone applications.

In this DSP Engineer role in Manchester, you will:

Develop and optimise DSP algorithms for implementation on embedded processors and dedicated audio hardwareImplement and test real-time audio processing within physical products, balancing performance, latency and sound qualityIntegrate DSP algorithms with embedded software, firmware and hardware platformsCollaborate with hardware and software engineers throughout product development, system integration and testingInvestigate and optimise signal processing techniques to improve the performance and functionality of professional audio products

The ideal DSP Engineer will have:

Commercial experience developing DSP for hardware-based products, such as embedded audio systems, digital mixing consoles, amplifiers or other dedicated audio devicesStrong knowledge of digital signal processing algorithms and real-time audio processingExperience programming in C or C++, with MATLAB or Python also beneficialAn understanding of embedded processors, DSP platforms and the integration of signal processing algorithms into physical hardwareA genuine passion for audio technology, music or professional sound products
