Description
Good antique 17th c style walnut or fruitwood savonarola type folding x frame armchair.
Uncertain of the age of this but surely 18th or 19th century at the latest.
Nicely made chair with well carved lion's paw feet, hinge bosses and foliate paterae roundels to the scrolled ends of the arms..
The leather seat and back appear to be the original and are in poor condition. the leather actually encases a woven webbing hat does still seem to have some strength. .
The frame is in good sound condition with firm joints and nicely polished wood surfaces with an attractive antique patina. The hinge operates smoothly
