Utility Scale Solar Technician

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the UK's energy market. The company have a portfolio of assets in BESS, Solar and EV Charging and we're looking for someone who already has experience in utility scale solar or BESS sector.

This Field Service Technician / Solar Technician comes with a salary just shy of 42,000 and with an extensive benefits list too.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Field Team Leader you will:

Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar and BESS assetsPerform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites in York/Easingwold (with some visits up to near Hull as well)Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your dutiesTest both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issuesConduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assetsConsistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systemsLooking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a resultOccasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum18th edition wiring regsIdeally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalentA HSE qualification is desiredExperience within solar and/or BESS is essentialUK driving licence is essential

Personal skills

The Solar Technician role would suit someone who is:

Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshootingExperience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficialSomeone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference
