LOCATION: Hampshire/Berkshire borders near Reading

Job Title: Live out Housekeeper/cook required on a Private Estate (Near Reading, with possibly occasional London travel)

Salary: around £40,000pa. doe.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week working week - Friday to Tuesday.

Principals travel often to other staffed houses so there are some free weekends. Candidates need to be flexible to accept change.

Possibility of long term position if suitable.

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and professional Housekeeper/Cook to join a private household based on a beautiful estate near Reading. Working alongside the current Housekeeper to understand the role then take over to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the household to the highest possible standard, ensuring a happy and well-organised home for the principals. Cooking meals for the small family is required.

Key Responsibilities:

· Daily cleaning, upkeep, and presentation of the estate to a 5-star standard.

· Laundry, ironing, wardrobe management, and care of delicate fabrics.

· Organisation of household supplies and inventory management.

· Occasional assistance with meal preparation, table setting, and service when required.

· Supporting household routines.

· Travel to London property when needed to carry out housekeeping duties.

· Liaising with other household staff, contractors, and service providers as required.

· Adapting to the changing needs of the principals with a flexible and positive attitude.

· Cooking daily meals – assisting appointed chef if an event takes place.

Candidate Requirements:

· Previous experience as a Housekeeper/cook in a private household or luxury environment is essential.

· Exceptional eye for detail, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

· Discreet, trustworthy, and professional at all times.

· Flexible and adaptable, able to prioritise tasks in a dynamic household.

· Strong organisational skills and ability to take initiative.

· Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.

· Willingness to travel occasionally to London.

· Full UK working rights and checkable references.

· Totally flexible when required for extra hours with time back in lieu.

· Driving Licence

Package:

· Very generous salary available up to £40,000pa - depending on experience plus benefits
