Project Manager

This Project Manager role suits someone with a strong engineering background who still enjoys being close to the technical detail but wants full ownership of projects. It is well suited to an engineer stepping into their first formal Project Manager position, or an experienced Project Manager who prefers a hands-on, delivery-focused environment rather than a purely administrative role.

The business delivers complex, bespoke engineering projects in a fast-paced setting. As a Project Manager, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to make sure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This is not a desk-only position, the Project Manager is expected to get involved with the technical side when required.

The Project Manager will take responsibility for projects from initial enquiry through to final delivery, balancing customer communication, internal coordination, and cost control. This role is ideal for a Project Manager who enjoys variety, accountability, and working across multiple disciplines.

What the Project Manager will be doing

Providing engineering and technical input during quoting and throughout project deliveryOwning projects end to end, accountable for cost, timescales, and deliveryActing as the main point of contact for customers, managing expectations and building strong working relationshipsWorking closely with account management and internal departmentsPlanning and scheduling tasks and resources with appropriate lead timesMonitoring progress, budgets, and hours across all project stagesManaging changes within projects, including priorities and resource allocationMaintaining accurate project documentation, drawings, and controlled issue recordsUsing the internal project management system to track hours, costs, and milestonesLeading regular project reviews with key stakeholders

Experience and qualifications

Minimum of 3 years industry experience in a technical or engineering-based rolePrevious experience working as a Project Manager or taking ownership of engineering projectsDesign engineering background highly desirable for this Project Manager positionRelevant engineering qualificationProject management qualification beneficial but not essentialAbility to meet Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) requirements
