Description
Our client is seeking a Graduate Naval Architect to join their Engineering Transformation team.
This team leads the delivery of major asset engineering programmes, including Coastal Lifeboat, Atlantic 85 Mk4, and SIMS replacement projects.
In this role, you will support the development of structures, stability, equipment, and human-factors design across all floating assets. Working closely with colleagues across engineering, production, procurement, maintenance, and operations, you will contribute to new-build projects and the development of new equipment aligned with the five-year plan.
Your passion for developing and assessing innovative, practical, and cost-effective engineering solutions will help deliver the next generation of lifesaving capability.
Your Role
As a Graduate Naval Architect, you will:
Assist with design and development activities and configuration change control of technical documentation to support the through-life management of assets and associated equipment.Ensure plant, equipment, and procedures are developed in accordance with Engineering & Supply (E&S) processes and standards.Work within E&S project teams alongside Engineering Leads and Project Managers to deliver work to agreed timescales and ensure engineering processes are followed.Act as an engineering signatory in accordance with the E&S delegated authority framework, appropriate to experience.Provide technical support to coastal staff and volunteers.Assist with technical investigations, troubleshooting, trials, and data analysis at boatyards, contractor premises, and on-board assets.Contribute to additional engineering tasks and projects as required.
About You
You will be a motivated, output-focused individual looking to develop your career in a practical and collaborative engineering environment.
You will need:
A RINA-accredited Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering qualification, equivalent to UK Level 5, or Level 3/4 with proven additional experience.A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.The ability to contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement.Good written and verbal communication skills.Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
