Experienced Housekeeper / Household Manager – Private Family Home, Ealing

We are looking for an experienced, warm and highly reliable Housekeeper / Household Manager to join our family home in Ealing, ideally starting around 12 October.

We are initially looking for someone who can commit to the role for a minimum of three months, with the possibility of continuing longer term depending on our household’s needs.

We are a busy family with a young child and a friendly Golden Retriever. This is a hands-on housekeeping role combined with day-to-day household management, and we are looking for someone proactive, organised and able to take genuine ownership of the home and notice what needs doing without always being asked.

Excellent laundry and garment-care knowledge is particularly important, including caring for different fabrics, stain treatment, ironing and steaming.

Responsibilities include:


General housekeeping and cleaning



Laundry, ironing, steaming and garment care



Changing beds



Wardrobe and cupboard organisation



Monitoring and restocking household supplies



Managing parcels and deliveries



Occasional errands, such as shopping or trips to the Post Office



Some light cooking/food preparation



Occasional help with dinners and events at home



Core hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm (approximately 28 hours per week).

Our household can be quite dynamic, so some flexibility with hours is important. Occasionally, we may need an additional 1-2 hours at the end of the day, some help on a Wednesday, or support for a pre-arranged dinner or event outside the regular schedule. We would, of course, give notice wherever possible, but we are looking for someone whose schedule allows for this degree of flexibility.

Previous private-household experience and excellent, checkable references are essential. You must also be comfortable around a young child and a dog, although this is not a nanny position.

Rate: Dependent on experience.

Start: Ideally around 12 October, following a successful interview and paid half-day trial.
