ASAP Daily Housekeeper – Lancaster Gate

Excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly organised Housekeeper to join a welcoming family household in Lancaster Gate. The family's current Housekeeper is leaving after eight very happy years and highly recommends the family and the role.

The position is Monday to Friday 8.30am–6.30pm with an ASAP start.

Initially, the family will be based in a three-bedroom apartment in Kensington before moving to their currently being refurbished larger house (4 bed, over several floors with lift) in January/February in Lancaster Gate.

The Housekeeper will take responsibility for all general housekeeping and the day-to-day care of the home, maintaining the excellent standards and routines already established by the current Housekeeper. The family particularly values someone who genuinely takes pride in their work and enjoys keeping a home beautifully maintained, organised and running smoothly.

Duties will include general cleaning and household care, wardrobe management, organising and sending out dry cleaning and laundry, monitoring its return, receiving and keeping track of household deliveries and ensuring everything is dealt with efficiently.

At the current property, bed linen is sent externally for laundering. The family's new home will have a fully equipped laundry room with excellent facilities, when responsibility for household laundry and linen care will form part of the role.

There is no requirement for evening cooking, although the Housekeeper should be happy to prepare simple, light lunches. Good cooking skills would certainly be welcomed but are not essential as training and preferences provided.

A nanny is employed for the family's toddler twins and a PA also works from the family home. There is a very good sense of team spirit within the household, which the existing staff particularly enjoy, and the family would therefore like someone accustomed to working positively and cooperatively as part of an established household team.

The family also has a well-trained Spaniel who visits approximately once a month, and the Housekeeper should be happy to feed and walk him when he is in residence.

The position is open to candidates of all nationalities. Excellent English is required, together with previous experience caring for a well-run family home. The successful candidate will be proactive, exceptionally organised and well presented, with good attention to detail and a genuine sense of responsibility for the home.

This would particularly suit a Housekeeper who enjoys being part of a committed team and is looking for a long-term position with a family whose departing Housekeeper can recommend them after eight successful years.

Salary £50,000gpa with an immediate start.
