About the Role

We’re seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Harvest Manager to assist with overseeing the harvesting operations of premium soft fruit and asparagus. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking agricultural team dedicated to innovation, sustainability, and environmental stewardship—while delivering top-quality produce.

Key Responsibilities

*

Support the Harvest Manager with all aspects of field and packhouse operations, particularly during peak harvest season.

*

Deputise in the Manager’s absence, stepping into leadership and operational roles as required.

*

Coordinate daily harvesting logistics: ensure equipment is farm-ready, compliant with safety standards and food safety protocols.

*

Manage, train, and support team leaders and seasonal staff—inducting new team members and maintaining high performance and safety standards.

*

Maintain accurate harvest records, track yields, and ensure compliance with quality, health, and safety standards.

*

Foster a positive health, safety, and environmental culture—actively identifying improvements in operations.

*

Be prepared for hands-on support during busy periods—including weekend work and variable hours.

*

Promote continuous improvement across operations and assist other departments (husbandry, irrigation, engineering, etc.) when needed.

About You

*

Prior experience in soft fruit or agricultural harvest roles (e.g., raspberries, strawberries, asparagus) is essential—though full training will be provided.

*

Strong organisational and leadership skills, with a proactive, positive outlook.

*

Excellent communication and team management capabilities.

*

A flexible, hands-on approach: ready to pitch in where needed.

*

Valid full UK driving licence.

*

UK work eligibility.

What’s On Offer

*

Salary: £40,000 DOE

*

Permanent, full-time position, with seasonal flexibility in working hours.

*

Benefits may include:

*

Accommodation can be arranged

*

Pension contributions

*

Employee discounts and free or subsidised meals

*

Free parking and easy access to surrounding community amenities

Why This Role Is Special
