Teaching Assistant (BL6)

Location: Blackrod, Bolton

Start Date: September 2026

Hours: 08:30am - 3:30pm

Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in education?

We are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in the Rivington area of Bolton. This rewarding role involves supporting students with a range of additional learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them to overcome barriers to education and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.

The school prides itself on creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student is encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students throughout the school day, both in lessons and during wider school activities

Work alongside teaching staff to deliver engaging learning experiences

Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Help students develop social skills, confidence, and independence

Build strong, professional relationships that promote engagement and progress

We're Looking For

Candidates who have:

Experience working with children or young people in any capacity

A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

The ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model

Experience in education, tutoring, sports coaching, youth work, mentoring, care, or voluntary work (desirable but not essential)

A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential
