Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: M20, Manchester

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break)

Pay: £13.69 - £15.87 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-term, ongoing (with potential to become permanent)

Reeson Education is seeking a resilient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary PRU in the M20 area. This full-time, long-term opportunity is ideal for a Teaching Assistant experienced in working with children with SEMH, ASD, and complex behavioural needs.

Restraint training is essential! Only candidates with official Team Teach or other recognised restraint training should apply.

Teaching Assistant Role Information:

Full-time, long-term role with the opportunity for permanent placement.

Based in a Primary PRU supporting pupils with SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.

Pay: £13.69 - £15.87 per hour.

Start Date: ASAP.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support as a Teaching Assistant.

Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver tailored interventions.

Support pupils in regulating behaviour using positive reinforcement and restraint techniques when required.

Encourage social, emotional, and academic development in a structured environment.

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom as a Teaching Assistant.

Assist with daily routines, transitions, and school-wide activities.

Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

Be a calm, consistent, and supportive presence for children with complex needs.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

Experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a Primary PRU, SEN, or SEMH setting.

Official Team Teach or recognised restraint training within the last 2 years is essential.

Understanding of SEMH, ASD, and challenging behaviours.

Resilient, adaptable, and patient approach.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Enhanced DBS (on the update service or willingness to apply).

Full commitment to a long-term role as a Teaching Assistant.
