Support Worker – Supported Living (16–18) | Bournemouth | Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for Support Workers to join a welcoming supported living setting in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people as they develop independence and life skills.

About the Setting:

Supported living provision for young people aged 16–18

All residents are relatively independent – no personal care required

Supporting young people with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD

A positive and encouraging environment focused on preparing young people for adult life

The Role:

As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping young people build confidence and independence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Supporting with daily living skills such as cooking, shopping, and maintaining a home

Encouraging independence and decision-making

Accompanying young people to activities and appointments

Supporting with job applications, CV writing, and preparing for employment

Adapting your support depending on individual needs – some young people require minimal input, while others need more consistent guidance

Start date: ASAP

Working Hours:

Shifts run from 9:00am – 9:00am

Working hours: 9:00am – 11:00pm

Sleep-in: 11:00pm – 7:00am (may be interrupted if support is needed – paid accordingly)

Morning shift: 7:00am – 9:30am

They have a 3 week rolling rota, an example of this is below:

Week 1 - Wednesday Saturday

Week 2 – Monday, Friday, Sunday

Week 3 - Tuesday Thursday

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (any setting)

No prior SEN experience required

Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries

Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with young people

Reliable, committed, and able to work the shift pattern outlined
