We’re a Sussex based recruitment agency with over 15 years of experience, helping schools and specialist settings across London, the South Coast, Surrey, and Yorkshire fill roles permanently, long-term, and for daily supply. We pride ourselves on offering ethical, transparent service, tailored support, and strong professional development for all our candidates.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or SEND professional to join a dedicated and supportive team, making a meaningful impact on the education and wellbeing of pupils with complex learning needs including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

You will work closely with the SENDCO and teaching staff to support individuals and small groups of pupils, delivering targeted interventions and adapting learning to meet their needs. This role involves working both inside and outside the classroom and requires a flexible, proactive, and empathetic approach.

Key Responsibilities

* Deliver and adapt specified learning activities to individuals and small groups

* Support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including SEMH

* Provide specialist advice and guidance to staff to support inclusive teaching

* Monitor and respond to behaviour, escalating complex issues appropriately

* Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

* Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals

* Supervise and support other classroom support staff

* Contribute to whole-school SEND strategy and development

* Take a key role in coordinating JCQ Access Arrangements

* Deputise for the SENDCO when required

What We’re Looking For

* HLTA qualification or equivalent (e.g., NVQ Level 4)

* Experience working with children with SEND, particularly SEMH

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to manage and support challenging behaviour

* Confidence in working collaboratively with multi-agency professionals

* Leadership and mentoring experience is desirable

What You’ll Get

* A chance to make a real difference in pupils’ lives

* Ongoing professional development and support

* A varied and fulfilling working environment

* The opportunity to be part of a passionate, student-focused team

How to Apply

If you’re ready to take the next step in your SEND career and want to work in a rewarding, supportive environment, we’d love to hear from you
