Youth Worker / Sports Coach (Part-time)

London, E4

£10 – £18 per hour, depending on age and experience

Hours: Part-time, including evenings and weekends as needed

Our client is a community organisation committed to providing sporting and developmental opportunities for young people. They believe in creating inclusive, positive environments where participants can grow in confidence, skills, and wellbeing.

Role Overview

They are seeking a passionate Youth Worker / Sports Coach to join the team. The person in this role will design and deliver sporting programmes, support young people, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle. You will help shape sessions, engage participants of varying ages, and contribute to community development through sport.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver training programmes tailored to individuals and teams.Lead practice sessions focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.Organise and support competitions, ensuring logistics and safety are in place.Create an encouraging and inclusive environment for all participants.Maintain open communication with participants, parents, and stakeholders regarding progress, schedules, and concerns.Monitor and report on attendance, development, and feedback.Work flexibly including evenings and weekends as required.

Requirements and Skills:

Experience in sports coaching, teaching, or youth work is desirable but not essential.Good knowledge of one or more sports (rules, techniques, strategies).Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with young people and parents.A genuine passion for sport and community engagement.Ability to work flexibly (evenings, weekends).Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications are a plus.Valid safeguarding certification is beneficial.
