Description
Traditional fruit press for your serious fruit processing. It's just over 1 metre tall and the tray is half a meter diameter. The inside of the press is 30cm diameter and 40cm high which is about 28 litres. The legs have fixing holes and you will need to fix the press down; either to a piece of ply that you stand on, or to a concrete floor.
I've used this press for years for the grapes and apples I grew on my allotment. I had to give that up so I'm reluctantly parting with it. This press has a proper ratchet ram, and a bar for two-handed operation. It's complete with full set of press blocks - just add your own bags to hold the fruit and buckets to catch the juice. It has a few knocks and chips as you expect for its age which is maybe 20 years.
The wooden slats are removable and labelled as I dismantled the press and sterilised them every 2 or 3 years in the kitchen oven at 100C. It came to me with some woodworm holes but that's not got any worse. After each use I cleaned it with water and fairy liquid and oiled the screw with cooking oil. It's been stored indoors.
