Description
Role: CNC Miller
Location: Luton
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience
Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Miller who will be responsible for the setup, operation, and optimisation of CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and production requirements.
Responsibilities include:
Set up, operate, and adjust CNC milling machines to produce components to specification
Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, and fixtures
Edit and optimise CNC programs to improve cycle times and machining performance
Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring equipment
Identify and resolve machining issues related to tooling, materials, or machine performance
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area in line with company procedures
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience operating CNC milling machines in a production or precision engineering environment
Strong understanding of milling processes, tooling, and cutting parameters
Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings and tolerances
Experience with common CNC control systems (e.g. Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, or similar)
Competent in the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, verniers, and bore gauges
