Analytical Chemist

Location: Leicester

18 Month Contract

My client is a well–established pharmaceutical manufacturer, seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their team on an 18–month contract. There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent position after this time dependent on the needs of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate, or those with a little experience looking to develop their experience within a structured, quality–driven setting, with exposure to a variety of analytical techniques.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out routine and non–routine analytical testing on raw materials and products, and ensuring all work is conducted in line with GMP standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Performing analytical testing using techniques such as HPLC, UV, IR and other relevant instrumentation Ensuring accurate documentation in line with GMP or equivalent standards Supporting the investigation of out–of–spec results Supporting validation activities Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring compliance with calibration schedules About You

We are looking for someone with a strong scientific background and hands–on laboratory experience.

You will ideally have:

A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment (e.g. GMP, GLP) with practical experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
