Trainee Turbine Mechanic

Location: Warwick

Salary: 26,000 - 35,000 depending on experience

Employment Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:00

An established aerospace engineering organisation in Warwickshire is seeking Trainee Turbine Mechanics to join its expert team.

As a Trainee Turbine Mechanic, you will play a key role in the disassembly, inspection, repair, overhaul, and testing of the Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and turbine engines, ensuring all work meets CAA/EASA and FAA regulatory requirements, OEM specifications, and internal quality standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with some proven mechanical aptitude and previous engineering workshop experience to build a long-term career in aerospace maintenance.

Main Responsibilities:

Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble APUs, small engines, and related subassemblies.Diagnose faults and identify performance issues.Use precision measuring tools and test equipment to confirm compliance with technical specifications.Interpret and apply maintenance manuals, engineering orders, and service bulletins.Accurately record all maintenance actions in line with regulatory and company guidelines.Maintain high safety and quality standards at all times.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Strong mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting skills.Recognised engineering apprenticeship preferred (relevant experience in a similar environment may also be considered).Ability to work to technical drawings and maintenance manuals.Ability to use verniers, calipers, micrometers, etc.Minimum 5 GCSEs (grade C/5 or above) including English, Maths, and a Science subject (or equivalent).Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.Good computer literacy.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
