Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

Our client, a leading firm specialising in the water sector, is currently seeking both Mechanical Design Engineers and Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join their dynamic team on a contract basis. This role offers hybrid working opportunities and is based out of their Manchester office. Our client is especially interested in candidates with UK Water experience, but those from other regulated industries will also be considered. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in long-term projects across AMP8.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and development of mechanical components and systems for water sector projectsCreation of detailed mechanical designs and specificationsCollaborating with other engineering disciplines to ensure project successConducting analysis and simulation to verify design integrityReviewing and approving mechanical designs and documentationProviding technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineersEnsuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulationsParticipating in project meetings and presenting technical findings

Job Requirements:

Experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the water sector but not essential Proficiency in mechanical design software and toolsUnderstanding of regulated industry standards and compliance requirementsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectivelyRelevant engineering degree or equivalent qualificationWillingness to work on a hybrid basis and attend the Manchester office as required
