The Role

As a Manual Cylindrical Grinder, you will be responsible for producing precision components to tight tolerances using manual cylindrical grinding machinery.

You'll work from engineering drawings and specifications, selecting the appropriate tooling and grinding techniques to achieve the required finish and dimensional accuracy.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys the technical challenge that comes with precision grinding.

Key Responsibilities

Set and operate manual cylindrical grinding machines.

Grind precision components to tight tolerances.

Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Select appropriate grinding wheels, tooling and techniques.

Set machine parameters to achieve the required dimensions and surface finishes.

Carry out in-process inspection and dimensional checks.

Use a range of measuring equipment to verify component accuracy.

Identify and rectify grinding issues where required.

Maintain consistent quality throughout production.

Ensure components meet customer and engineering specifications.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Follow company quality and health and safety procedures.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Manual Cylindrical Grinder with a strong background in precision engineering.

You should have:

Proven experience operating manual cylindrical grinding machinery.

Experience grinding precision components to tight tolerances.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Strong understanding of grinding processes and techniques.

Experience using precision measuring equipment.
