Description

M&E Project Manager / Project Engineer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established building services contractor delivering a diverse range of mechanical and electrical projects across commercial environments. We would also consider a M or E Project Engineer who is looking to move up.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing M&E projects from initial enquiry through to completion and final account, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with clients, engineers and subcontractors, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery while maintaining strong commercial control and building long-term client relationships. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to business growth by identifying additional works opportunities and supporting the development of an expanding projects team.

This position would suit an experienced M&E Project Manager with either a mechanical or electrical background who enjoys managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage M&E building services projects from enquiry through to completion and final account.

Develop project programmes, resource plans and delivery strategies.

Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist contractors.

Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with client expectations.

Commercial Management

Prepare quotations, scopes of work and technical submissions.

Manage project budgets, valuations, variations, WIP and final accounts.

Identify and secure opportunities for additional works.

Monitor project profitability and financial performance.

Client & Stakeholder Management

Act as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.

Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and project updates.

Provide technical and commercial guidance where required.

Support the identification of future project opportunities.

Technical & Compliance

Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements.

Provide technical oversight across mechanical and electrical building services installations.

Previous experience managing M&E or building services projects. Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services. Commercial awareness including budgeting, cost control, valuations and variations. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and client relationship management abilities. Experience using Microsoft Office and project management software.
