Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire

Salary: 35,000 + Study Support

Working Pattern: 4 days office / 1 day WFH

Role Overview

We are seeking a part-qualified Management Accountant to join a growing construction business during an exciting period of expansion and systems transformation.

This role will take ownership of key month-end processes while supporting the wider finance function with accurate reporting, commercial insight, and process improvement. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving processes, and building strong relationships across operational teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop into a senior leadership role, with a clear progression path towards Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timelinessFull ownership of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and journalsBalance sheet reconciliations and investigation of variancesSupport budgeting and forecasting processesProvide financial analysis and insight to commercial and operational teamsWork closely with project teams to ensure accurate financial reporting (construction-specific accounting)Support year-end audit and preparation of audit schedulesAssist with VAT returns and cash flow reportingContribute to the implementation of a new ERP system (COINS) over the next 6-9 monthsIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting qualitySupport and collaborate with the wider finance team where requiredSkills & Experience

Part-qualified accountant (AAT / CIMA / ACCA)Strong foundation in management accountingPrevious experience within the construction sector (highly desirable)Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments, and month-end processesExperience with fixed assets and journal postingsConfident working with non-finance stakeholdersStrong Excel skills and systems experience (Sage 200 experience beneficial; COINS highly advantageous)Experience supporting audit processes is beneficialAdditional Information
