Description
I offer one-to-one online tuition for students combining demanding A-Level Maths, Further Maths or Physics with preparation for the TMUA or ESAT.
I’m Nikola, a mathematics and physics tutor with a PhD in theoretical physics and more than ten years of tutoring experience. My teaching focuses on understanding, efficient problem-solving and remaining methodical when a question looks unfamiliar.
Admissions tests require more than revising course content. Students also need to recognise underlying ideas quickly, use algebra accurately, choose a productive route and decide when to persist or move on. Preparation therefore combines untimed analysis with increasingly realistic timed practice.
Depending on the student’s course and test, lessons can include:
- A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics foundations
- TMUA mathematical reasoning, logic and non-routine problems
- ESAT Mathematics 1, Mathematics 2 and Physics preparation
- Timing, triage and efficient checking
- Detailed review of tempting wrong approaches as well as correct solutions
- Live handwritten working and PDF notes after each lesson
The programme begins with a diagnostic view of content and reasoning, then targets the areas with the greatest effect on performance. There are no guaranteed scores; the aim is stronger method, judgement and confidence under timed conditions.
Rates: students up to age 18 — £40 for 45 minutes or £50 for 60 minutes. University students aged 18+ — £70 for 60 minutes.
A short introductory session is free for students up to Year 13. You can contact me through Gumtree or on WhatsApp using the number shown in the contact field. Please include the intended course, admissions test, current A-Level subjects and any previous practice results. More information and testimonials are available through my website link.
