Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Carpenters to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood, metal, and other materials. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. Applicants should have a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber and other materials according to project specifications
Operate hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and screwdrivers efficiently and safely
Use power tools including drills, saws, sanders, and planers for fabrication and assembly tasks
Read blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements
Perform roofing tasks, including installing trusses and sheathing
Carry out masonry work when required for structural support or decorative features
Engage in plumbing or electrical work where necessary to support carpentry projects
Conduct construction painting and finishing work to ensure quality presentation
Lift heavy materials safely during construction activities
Maintain a clean and organised worksite, adhering to health and safety regulations

Skills

Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, joinery, and carpentry techniques
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
Knowledge of roofing systems, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems, and construction painting is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
Good physical fitness with the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces if required
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients
