Support Tutor (German Language Engagement)

About the Role:

Integra Education are seeking a compassionate, patient, and engaging individual to support a pupil who is educated in an alternative setting. The primary aim of this role is to help the pupil maintain and actively use his German language skills as part of his cultural and long-term development.

The role is based in a farm setting, offering a unique, hands-on learning environment. The successful candidate will use this setting to create natural, meaningful opportunities for the pupil to communicate in German during activities.

The pupil is fluent in German but currently does not regularly speak the language. This role is not focused on teaching German, but rather on encouraging consistent, conversational use of the language in everyday interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage the pupil in conversational German throughout sessions to support language retention

Work alongside a qualified teacher to deliver structured and engaging learning activities

*

Plan and deliver an NCFE course, tailored to the learner’s interests, to support engagement and achievement

*

Adapt the chosen NCFE course content to incorporate opportunities for German language use where appropriate

*

Build a positive, trusting relationship to encourage communication and confidence

*

Adapt communication and activities to suit the pupil’s individual needs

Candidate Requirements:

*

Fluent German speaker

*

Essential: Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

*

Experience planning or delivering accredited or vocational courses (e.g. NCFE)

*

Patient, empathetic, and adaptable communication style

*

Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff

*

Comfortable working in an outdoor, farm-based environment

*

An interest in supporting cultural and language preservation

Desirable:

*

Experience with EOTAS or alternative provision settings

*

Knowledge or understanding of FASD

*

Experience delivering NCFE or similar qualifications

*Please note that this role is for one day per week to fit around the pupils time table*
