Prospero teaching are seeking compassionate, proactive, and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team at a forward-thinking college in the heart of Bournville. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Post-16 learners with autism and additional needs.

About the Role:

As a SEND TA, you will work closely with students aged 16+ who have a diagnosis of autism as well as other special needs, providing 1:1 and small group support across a variety of subjects and college-based activities. You will play a vital role in helping students to access the curriculum, develop independence, and build confidence in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with autism in and out of the classroom

Implement personalised strategies and interventions as part of EHCPs

Foster social, emotional and academic development

Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals

Promote independence and life skills in preparation for adulthood

Were Looking for Someone Who:

Has experience supporting young people with autism and/or additional need

Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a flexible approach

Is confident working with post-16 learners in an educational or care setting

Can build positive, trusting relationships with students and staff

Holds a relevant TA qualification (desirable but not essential)

Has a minimum of 6 months experience working in the UK
