PMLD Teaching Assistant - Lewisham

Location: Lewisham, South East London

Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £100-£117 per day

Remedy Education are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive SEN school in Lewisham.

This role involves working closely with pupils who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and complex additional needs. You will play an important role in supporting their learning, development, communication and day-to-day wellbeing.

The Role:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD

Supporting children with complex learning and physical needs

Helping pupils engage with sensory activities and classroom learning

Supporting communication and individual development

Assisting with mobility and physical needs

Providing personal care, including toileting and changing when required

Supporting pupils with feeding and daily routines where appropriate

Following individual care, learning and support plans

Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals

Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience within PMLD, SEN, care or a similar support role is desirable

Comfortable providing personal care and supporting physical needs

Patient, caring and resilient

Confident xjnqpsq working with pupils with complex needs

Able to build positive relationships with children and young people

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Reliable and committed to a full-time, long-term position
