ASAP Start - Full-Time Position

Are you a caring, empathetic individual with a passion for supporting children's mental health?

A specialist primary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who face a range of emotional and behavioural challenges, including Autism, ADHD, anxiety, and trauma-related difficulties.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional regulation, building their resilience, and helping them engage more positively with learning. If you're considering a future in education, therapy, or clinical psychology, this role offers invaluable hands-on experience in a nurturing and professional environment.

Role: Mental Health Assistant

Location: Reading

Salary: £89-£100 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Start Date: ASAP

Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or Education Graduates, or those with a background in youth work, care, or mental health supportMental Health Assistant Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 and small group emotional support to pupils

Assisting with de-escalation strategies and helping pupils manage anxiety or behaviour

Supporting classroom activities and helping maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment
