At Quokka Education, we're working with a highly regarded Hampshire secondary school to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join their specialist Resource Base for D/deaf and/or Hard of Hearing students. This is a rewarding term-time role starting in September 2025, ideal for those interested in SEND, pastoral care, or specialist teaching support.

No previous classroom experience? No problem.

Full training and free CPD opportunities will be provided — you just need the right attitude and desire to support young people.

Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant:

* Support students with hearing loss who access the mainstream curriculum

* Provide tailored support within the classroom across various subjects

* Help adapt learning materials to ensure full accessibility

* Promote student independence and inclusion within the school

* Work closely with specialist teachers, SENCOs, and the wider pastoral team

We’re Looking For:

* Compassionate, reliable individuals with strong communication skills

* Those with GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths

* People with a genuine interest in SEND or educational support

* BSL skills are a bonus – but not essential. Training can be provided

* Graduates or career changers looking for meaningful work in education

* Contract: Fixed term (1 year initially)

* Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only (school day hours)

* Pay: From £85/day (via PAYE)

* Schedule: Full-time preferred, part-time considered
