A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Family Liaison Officer to join our team at a dynamic secondary school in Blackpool. We are seeking a proactive and empathetic professional to be the vital link between the school and our families. You'll provide essential early help and pastoral support to students and parents, tackling issues that affect a child's learning and progress. This role is crucial in promoting positive relationships and ensuring every child has the best possible chance to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Work as a key point of contact for families, providing a confidential and supportive service.

Serve as a Family Liaison Officer, connecting parents with a wide range of local services and multi-agency partners in the Blackpool community.

Contribute to the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures, acting as a crucial first point of contact for concerns.

Conduct home visits and meetings, fostering strong parental engagement to build an effective home-school partnership.

Organise and facilitate workshops or information sessions for parents on relevant topics.

About You

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges facing families in a secondary school setting. You will be a skilled communicator with a compassionate, non-judgemental approach.

Essential qualifications and experience:

A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field such as social work, youth work, or pastoral care.

Proven experience in a similar school support worker or family support role.

Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

A resilient and proactive nature, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Why Join Our Blackpool School?
