Hours: 11:00am – 6:15pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Job Description

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our welcoming and supportive primary school in Plumstead. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly Early Years team, supporting children within our Nursery during the school day before leading and supporting our after-school provision for Nursery-aged children.

This varied role offers the opportunity to work across both the Nursery classroom and the Nursery After School Club, providing a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children can learn, play and thrive throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Support high-quality teaching, learning and care within the Nursery, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.

Work alongside the class teacher and Early Years team to deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences.

Build positive relationships with children, encouraging their confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.

Observe children's learning and contribute to assessments and learning journeys where required.

Prepare and maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming learning environment.

Support children's personal care needs where appropriate.

Lead and support the Nursery After School Club from the end of the school day until 6:15pm.

Plan and provide fun, age-appropriate activities during after-school sessions, including creative play, outdoor learning and quiet activities.

Ensure children's safety and wellbeing throughout the day, following safeguarding and health and safety procedures.

Build strong partnerships with parents and carers during collection times.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide continuity of care between the Nursery and after-school provision.About You

We are looking for someone who:

Holds a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.

Has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Is passionate about supporting young children's learning and development.

Is warm, caring, patient and enthusiastic.

Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Can create positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

Is organised, reliable and able to use their initiative.
