Description

SEN / Complex Care Support Worker, GU10. A part-time afternoon role with set weekday shifts for an enthusiastic, bubbly and fun SEN professional with complex care experience. Join a dedicated care team providing 2:1 support to a fabulous 17-year-old young lady with complex medical needs.

Nearest Station: Farnham

Salary/Wage: £17.00 – £19.00 gross per hour (dependent on experience)

Driving Requirements: Yes – to travel to and from the family home

Essential: Experience supporting young people with a physical disability and complex care needs. Female applicants only

Desirable: Tracheostomy experience

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: Monday–Friday 3:00pm–8:00pm and Wednesday 2:00pm–8:00pm

About the Client/Child: Rose (17) lives at the heart of a warm and supportive family with her Mum, Dad and younger brother. She is a sweet, engaging and happy young lady who loves music (especially boy bands!), pamper sessions, movies, sensory play, stories and lively, engaging activities.

Rose sustained a brain injury at birth and requires full 2:1 support. She has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a tracheostomy (with suctioning), a GJ tube for nutrition, fluids and medication, and a visual impairment. Rose communicates using her eyes and is able to clearly express her likes and dislikes. Her home is fully adapted, and full training is provided across all aspects of her care and medical needs.

The Role at a Glance: Rose has a busy and enriching routine including home schooling, therapy sessions and fun activities. Working alongside another team member, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred support, covering personal care, medication and feeds, manual handling, therapy programmes, activity planning and accurate record keeping. You’ll work closely with Rose’s parents and her wider multidisciplinary team to ensure consistency, safety and the best possible outcomes.

This Job Would Suit: A fun, proactive and caring *female SEN / Complex Care Support Worker who enjoys music, crafts and spending time engaging with young people. You’ll have experience in complex medical care, be happy to complete ongoing training, and be committed to providing the highest standard of support. Applicants must be non-smokers/vapers and able to drive.
