About the Client/Child: Lucy, 24, lives in her own fully adapted annex within the family home, surrounded by countryside views. She is at the centre of a busy, loving household with her parents, siblings, and dogs. Lucy enjoys sensory activities and favourite TV programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing, Mr Tumble, and Balamory.

Lucy has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She requires full support with personal care, manual handling, and administration of feeds, fluids, and medication via PEG. She communicates through vocalisations, especially when uncomfortable, and responds with smiles when content. Her space includes a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, and garden access.

The Role at a Glance: Lucy’s weekends are active and structured, typically including swimming, sensory sessions, and outings. You will work within a 2:1 team to meet all care and medical needs, including PEG feeds at 12:30 pm and 5:00 pm. The role involves engaging Lucy in meaningful activities and contributing ideas for new experiences. A detailed care plan supports routines, and family members remain closely involved.

This Job Would Suit: An enthusiastic, reliable Support Worker with a genuine passion for supporting young adults with complex needs, comfortable working within a family environment and committed to person-centred care.

Why You’ll Love This Role: Lucy is a joy to support, and her long-standing care team reflects the positive environment, excellent training, and ongoing professional support provided.
