• Essential: Experience supporting young adults with physical disability or brain injury; valid passport; non-smoker/vaper

• Desirable: Tube feeding, personal care and manual handling experience (training provided)

• Start Date: March/April to September 2026

• Days & Hours: Core weekday hours include mornings 6:45 am–9:00 am and evenings 2:00 pm–10:00 pm, Monday–Friday. Minimum 15 hours per week, with additional shifts available (weekends, overnights and holidays).

• Recruiter Contact: Janet MacLennan

About the Client/Child: Daniel (19) lives with his family in Putney. He enjoys music—especially EDM—and creating playlists on Spotify and YouTube. He also enjoys films (particularly horror), spending time with his pets, meeting new people and exploring London. Trips into central London using public transport and attending live performances (music, theatre, comedy) are favourites.

Daniel has a physical disability with limited functional control and is a full-time wheelchair user requiring hoist transfers for all position changes. He needs support with all personal care. Daniel is non-verbal but communicates effectively using an eye-gaze device. He eats some food orally but mainly receives a blended diet via tube feeding. Once comfortable with people, his warm smile and engaging personality shine through.

The Role at a Glance: Daniel requires 2:1 support, particularly during weekday routines. Morning duties include preparing breakfast and lunch and assisting with school drop-offs. Afternoons allow time for activity planning and meal preparation before his return home around 3:30 pm.

Evening routines follow a structured plan, including personal care and positioning before bedtime (around 9:30–10:00 pm). Weekends are more flexible and may include outings and new activities around London. Additional hours are available during school holidays, including travel with the family to Cornwall and Canada. Overnight respite shifts are also available, with staff supported by a monitoring system.

This Job Would Suit: Proactive Support Workers who enjoy empowering young adults and encouraging independence, social engagement and life skills. The role suits someone seeking a rewarding temporary contract of under one year.

Why You’ll Love This Role: Daniel is sociable, engaging and enjoys new experiences. This role offers variety, travel opportunities, and full training within a supportive family environment while making a genuine difference in a young person’s life.

Recruitment Process: This vacancy is managed through the Snap Care Shortlist Service. Applications are reviewed against essential criteria before suitable candidates are shared with the client/case manager.

Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship for any of our vacancies. Where a specific gender is required, this is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
