The MG Magnette ZA occupies an important place in the history of MG, representing the marque's move into the sporting executive-car market during the early post-war period. Introduced in 1953, the Magnette combined traditional MG sporting character with considerably greater refinement and practicality than the company's two-seat sports cars. Based upon the advanced BMC platform shared with the Wolseley 4/44 and subsequently the Magnette ZB, the ZA was distinguished by its elegant Farina-influenced styling, well-appointed interior and spirited performance. At its heart was BMC's 1,489cc four-cylinder B-Series engine, while the Magnette's sporting credentials were enhanced by its four-speed gearbox and engaging road manners. The model proved particularly successful with enthusiasts seeking a car capable of combining everyday usability with the character and individuality expected of an MG.

This attractive 1955 MG Magnette ZA benefits from a comprehensive restoration, reportedly completed in 2020 and carried out to a high standard. Finished in dark grey, the car is complemented by a grey leather interior with red carpets. The coachwork and paintwork are described as being in very good order.
