The Merton represents Crockett & Jones' quintessential penny loafer - refined, versatile, and built to last decades. The apron-front design and quality brown calf create a shoe that transitions effortlessly from business casual to weekend wear. Single leather soles provide flexibility and elegance while the slip-on convenience makes these perfect everyday shoes.
Condition: Very Good (8/10)
Uppers: Excellent condition with attractive natural patina from careful wear. Leather remains supple with no significant scuffs, scratches, or structural issues. Minor creasing at flex points (completely normal). Burnished finish developing nicely.
Soles: Good condition showing moderate wear consistent with age. Plenty of life remaining.
Insoles/Interior: Clean with minimal wear. No odour issues.
Overall Assessment: These have been worn regularly but treated with proper care - regularly polished, stored with shoe trees, and maintained properly. They're in the sweet spot where they've developed character but have substantial life remaining. Perfect for someone wanting premium British shoemaking without the £560 price tag.
