Description

Quality Lab Technician

Location: Aycliffe

Contract Type: 3‑month contract initially

Hours: 39 hours per week

Work Pattern: 3‑shift rotation

2:00pm - 10:00pm (required for this role; candidate must also commit to other shifts)

10:00pm - 6:00am

6:00am - 2:00pmOnsite Requirement: 5 days per week

Pay Rate:

£14.38 per hour

£3.37 per hour shift allowance

Equipment / PPE Requirements

Safety shoes (worker to provide)

Safety glasses (provided on site)

Bump cap (provided on site)

Key Responsibilities

Adhering to all site EHS policies and site requirements

Operating quality testing equipment and testing systems

Carrying out quality testing on site and offsite manufactured products

Controlling shipping release to meet deadlines

Ensuring prompt communication of non‑conformances to relevant manufacturing areas

Demonstrating strong IT skills and understanding

Maintaining excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse and understand data

Required Skills & Experience

Previous quality experience or laboratory background

Knowledge of SPC / SAP / DPQX

Knowledge of Product RSFs and quality standards

EHS‑conscious with engagement in behavioural safety programmes (e.g. SEE & ACT)

Understanding and application of continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques

Competent IT skills, including working knowledge of:

Microsoft Office (Outlook)

e‑Matrix

SAP

Competent in report writing

Strong organisational skills and ability to chase progress

Mathematically competent

Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation

Familiarity with, and understanding of, test xjnqpsq equipment

Able to work independently, showing initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team

Quality department and shift‑working experience preferred

Education

Working towards a quality qualification or higher education
