Location: Guildford, Surrey

Salary: £36,000–£40,000,

Job Type: Permanent, full-time

About the Company: An independent British engineering company and a specialist world leader in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of:

* Liquid-filled transformers

* Cast-resin transformers

* Dry-type transformers

* Transformer rectifiers

The company provides bespoke, world-class engineering solutions to a global customer base across industries including steel, mining and glass manufacturing.

The site employs approximately 130 people across its factory and office operations.

The Position

This is a newly created Mechanical Assembly Fitter position, working within the company’s transformer manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will help manufacture and assemble transformers, working closely with the Factory Manager and the wider production team.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Completing the main mechanical assembly of transformers

* Fitting and assembling transformer coils and associated components

* Working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions

* Supporting transformer testing and final inspection activities

* Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely

* Ensuring assemblies meet the required quality standards

* Assisting the Factory Manager with day-to-day production requirements

Experience Required

The company is looking for someone with hands-on mechanical assembly or fitting experience gained within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Experience involving transformers, electrical equipment, heavy engineering, industrial machinery, generators, motors, switchgear or similar equipment would be advantageous.

The successful candidate should be:

* Mechanically capable and comfortable assembling large engineered products

* Able to follow engineering drawings and instructions

* Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment

* Quality-focused with good attention to detail

* Reliable and able to work effectively within a production team

* Interested in developing their responsibilities over time

Working Hours

* Monday to Thursday: 7:30am–4:30pm

* Friday: 7:30am–12:30pm

Salary and Benefits

* Basic salary of £36,000–£40,000

* 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
