FCAW Welder

Description

We are currently recruiting for experienced Welders to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment in Southampton on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to welders with experience working to engineering drawings and producing high-quality fabrications in a production, marine, defence or heavy engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

MIG/MAG, FCAW and/or MMA welding of fabricated components and assemblies.

Working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.

Carrying out welding and fabrication to the required quality standards.

Preparing, positioning and securing components prior to welding.

Inspecting completed welds and identifying any defects or quality issues.

Working with materials including mild steel, stainless steel and/or aluminium.

Supporting general fabrication activities where required.

Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.

Working as part of a wider production and fabrication team to meet delivery requirements.

Experience Required

Previous professional welding experience.

Strong MIG/MAG, FCAW and/or MMA welding skills.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Experience working with fabricated steelwork or engineering components.

Good understanding of welding procedures, quality and safety requirements.

Relevant welding qualifications/certifications are advantageous.

Marine, defence, shipbuilding or heavy engineering experience would be beneficial.
