Description
Our client, a prominent player in the manufacturing sector, is seeking a Technical Manager to join their expanding Technical Design Department in Southampton. This permanent role offers a fantastic opportunity for a local, enthusiastic, and dedicated individual to advance their career.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading and managing technical projects within the departmentOverseeing the design and development of products using Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) in both 2D and 3DEnsuring that all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant regulationsCoordinating with the sheet metal fabrication team to improve processes and outcomesCompiling costings and managing budgets within spreadsheetsFacilitating continuous improvement and innovation within the teamDeveloping staff, providing training, and fostering a positive work environmentMaintaining effective communication with other departments and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Experience in technical and project management, particularly within the manufacturing sectorProficiency in Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) in both 2D and 3DKnowledge of electrical regulations and design practicesUnderstanding of sheet metal fabrication processesStrong skills in compiling costings within spreadsheetsComputer literate with a good grasp of relevant software and toolsAbility to learn new skills and take on challengesExcellent leadership and team management abilities
