Description
IT SAFETY ENGINEER – SC CLEARANCE REQUIRED
We are seeking an experienced Safety Assurance Engineer with experience across digital systems to support the delivery of safety-critical systems within a regulated and secure environment. You will play a key role in ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the full project lifecycle.
This role requires active Security Check (SC) clearance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support safety assurance activities across complex engineering projects
Produce and maintain safety documentation, including Safety Plans, Hazard Logs, Safety Cases, and Assurance Reports
Conduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation activities (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA)
Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. DEF STANs, EN standards, ALARP principles)
Work closely with systems, software, and hardware engineers to embed safety into designs
Support safety reviews, audits, and stakeholder engagement, including customers and regulators
Essential xjnqpsq Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Safety Assurance Engineer
Strong knowledge of safety engineering principles and lifecycle assurance
Experience producing safety cases and associated evidence
Familiarity with UK safety and regulatory standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Active SC Clearance
