Job Title: Registered Children s LD Deputy Manager

Location: Cardiff

Salary: GBP31,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Children s Learning Disabilities Deputy Manager to join a dedicated and child focused residential service in Cardiff.

This is more than a management position, it is a chance to help shape a nurturing, structured, and empowering home where children and young people with learning disabilities can feel safe, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

Working closely with the Registered Manager, the Deputy Manager will play a pivotal role in leading a skilled and compassionate team, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, the successful candidate will support the day–to–day running of the home, providing strong leadership and operational oversight. They will help create a positive and stable environment where both young people and staff can thrive.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading, motivating, and supporting a team of Support Workers and Senior Support WorkersAssisting the Registered Manager in maintaining full compliance with regulatory and quality standardsOverseeing care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding proceduresPromoting a culture where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged to achieve their goalsEnsuring policies, procedures, and children s home regulations are adhered to at all timesCoaching and developing staff, fostering continuous professional growthWorking collaboratively with families, professionals, and external agenciesParticipating in on–call duties and providing consistent leadership presence within the home About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be an approachable and organised leader who leads by example. They will be passionate about delivering outstanding care and committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Requirements include:

Experience within a children s residential settingLevel 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with commitment to achieving or holding Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential ChildcareStrong understanding of safeguarding, regulatory standards, and positive behaviour supportExcellent communication, decision–making, and teamwork skillsA resilient, proactive, and compassionate approach This is a rewarding opportunity for an ambitious professional ready to take the next step in their leadership journey within a supportive and forward–thinking service in Cardiff.
