Description

Position: Metallurgical Laboratory Technician

Location: South Yorkshire

Sector: Metals testing

Salary: Negotiable according experience but likely to be in the 30,000– 40,000 range

Hybrid: No, this is office based in South Yorkshire

Visa Support: Sponsorship may be available for the right candidate

The Role:

Ensuring that all work is carried out according to instructionsEnsuring that all health and safety requirements are adhered toEnsuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated as requiredEnsuring that all reports are accurate and succinct, delivering all required information to stakeholdersCarrying out testing and report writing as required as part of the teamRecruitment, training and development of staff to ensure availability of skillsProviding reports to the SLT on activity levels, costs etcAbout You:

A Degree level qualification is essential. This MUST be in Metallurgy, Materials Science or very similarPost–graduate certifications (Masters, MSc, Meng, PhD) are most welcomeProven experience of working in a laboratory environment, ideally for 5 + yearsExperience of microscopy, mechanical testing, corrosion, surface finish, heat treatment etcFluent written and spoken English including the ability to write complex technical reports in a clear and concise mannerExperience of specifying laboratory equipment is beneficial
