Job Title: Locum Cardiac Physiologist – Band 7

Location: Bristol

Contract Type: Locum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Pay Band: Band 7

Job Summary:

IMC Locums are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Band 7 Locum Cardiac Physiologist to support our Cardiology service in Bristol. The postholder will perform a wide range of complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures independently, including echocardiography, exercise tolerance testing, and device follow-up. The role requires autonomous practice, specialist knowledge, and clinical leadership within cardiac investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Independently perform and report transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) to BSE standards.

* Conduct and interpret exercise tolerance tests (ETTs), Holter monitoring, and 12-lead ECGs.

* Carry out pacemaker and ICD checks (follow-up and reprogramming as required).

* Support the implantation and follow-up of cardiac rhythm management (CRM) devices.

* Assist in the delivery of specialist cardiac clinics (e.g., valve, heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions).

* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all investigations using relevant IT systems.

* Provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff and students.

* Ensure all work complies with relevant governance, safety, and infection control policies.

* Participate in audit, quality assurance, and service development initiatives.

Essential Criteria:

* BSc Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent relevant qualification.

* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in cardiac physiology.

* Competency in echocardiography and device follow-up.

* RCCP or AHCS registration (or eligible for registration).

* Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and leadership skills.

* Able to work autonomously and manage a busy caseload.

* Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS clearance. xjnqpsq
