Maintenance Operative
Location: Coventry
Hours: 32 hours per week, 4 days
About the Role
This isn t your typical maintenance job. As a Maintenance Technician, you ll be the friendly face with the toolkit keeping the building in top condition, solving problems before they become issues, and ensuring everything runs smoothly for the people who live and work here.
From fixing doors and touching up paint to carrying out vital safety checks, your role is all about creating a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment.
What You ll Be Doing
Respond quickly to reactive repairs (scuffed walls, broken blinds, minor fixes).
Carry out planned and preventative maintenance (PPMs).
Keep shared spaces, corridors, and flats looking fresh and well-presented.
Tackle painting and decorating tasks to maintain high standards.
Complete safety and compliance checks (fire alarms, emergency lighting, legionella testing).
Keep clear records and report any safety risks.
Support wider site activities such as inspections, open days, and occasional events.
Be approachable, friendly, and proactive when residents report maintenance issues.
Who You Are
Experienced in building maintenance, facilities, or a similar hands-on role.
Skilled in painting, decorating, and general upkeep.
Knowledgeable about health & safety and compliance.
Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Friendly, approachable, and a great communicator.
(Bonus if you hold NVQ, 18th Edition, or other trade qualifications, but not essential.)
