Salary: Circa GBP48,000– GBP53,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2–3 days per week on–site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

The role of the Electrical Architect is to co–ordinate the overall electrical functionality, electrical performance and electrical constraints of the DragonFire system and to be the technical interface with the Design Authorities (external or internal) of weapon system equipment in order to ensure the consistency of the weapon system equipment with electrical architecture.

The Electrical Architect will need to coordinate with both internal and external suppliers to ensure technical choices, are in accordance with the architecture.

This is a varied role ranging from developing requirements with stakeholders, spending time in a design lab and supporting the acceptance of our Weapon System products.

The Electrical Architect will be responsible for electrical requirements across the project and to support the delivery of MBDA equipment

As an Electrical Architect, your main responsibilities will be:Manage technical interface with the Equipment Design Authority, including acceptance of the equipment deliverySupport equipment integration at the system levelManage the Statement of work (SOW) of the equipment.Lead the technical progress meetings and milestone reviews with the supplierUnderstand sub–contractor management both internal and externalUnderstand and contribute to the key activities in the engineering development lifecycle such as design reviews (PDR/DDR/CDR)Manage schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned work packagesWork within a multi–discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc )Understand the benefits of re–use versus new developmentLimit technical risks through application of mitigation strategiesAwareness of electrical regulations and standardsThe following would be useful, but not necessarily essential:Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practicesAppreciation of requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component levelKnowledge associated with the design and build of maritime electrical systemsAwareness of test procedures required to verify products and the gathering of evidence to enable certification.Confidence in presenting technical engineering information and promoting decision makingExperience of technical report writing and use of configuration management toolsPractical experience of electrical circuits, wiring, and installation.Our company: Peace is not a given, Freedom is not a given, Sovereignty is not a given
