Highway Inspector

Description

Carrington West is working in partnership with a local authority in the West Midlands to recruit an experienced Highway Inspector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and professional highways team responsible for maintaining and improving a diverse road network. The role offers long–term, consistent work for a Highway Inspector who is confident working independently, carrying out inspections, and ensuring the safety and compliance of highway assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out routine and reactive highway inspections in line with national and local standardsIdentifying defects and raising works orders within agreed timescalesEnsuring compliance with safety, quality, and statutory requirementsProducing clear and accurate inspection reportsLiaising with contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams as required Essential Requirements:

LANTRA Highway Inspection Certificate (mandatory)Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicleStrong knowledge of highway legislation, codes of practice, and safety standardsAbility to work independently and manage your own workload Desirable:
